Last Sunday, Lau, Xenocide and I completed the 100km Isle of Wight Randonnee.
It turns out that the island is pretty hilly, and much bigger when you’re riding around it on a bike
I honestly can’t fault the organisation of the event in any way. Everything was signposted well (though we did nearly miss a sign for the first checkpoint/feeding station due to not paying enough attention), everyone involved was very friendly and helpful - and the food they laid on wasn’t bad
We camped at Kite Hill Farm, which was one of the checkpoints for the ride - so we could pretty much roll out of our tents in the morning and start the ride.
The Fishbourne Inn, close to the camp site, provided food and drink for the night before the ride, and now comes recommended if you’re in the area
My highlight of the trip was this sign:
More pictures that I took are available on Facebook (you don’t need to have an account to view them)
In conclusion, I’ll be keeping the date free for next year!

According to an email I just got, 1644 cyclists took part on the day - which isn’t bad, considering the weather forecast
